Recycle Your Nappy Packs and Get Paid! (Sort Of)

Maternity Moneysaving Tip: How We Earned £5 Boots Points Just for Recycling!

Let’s talk about free money (well… kind of). Did you know that Boots runs a Recycling Scheme where you can earn £5 worth of Advantage Points just for bringing in items you were going to throw out anyway?

Yep, nappies, wipe packets, baby product containers — all those bits that usually end up in the bin? Turns out they can be traded in for points!

This was a game-changer for us whilst we navigate maternity leave and budgeting changes with a new baby, so I wanted to share exactly how it works in the hope it might help others!

How It Works

The scheme is super simple and surprisingly generous:

1. Download the Recycle at Boots App

Sign up using your email and Advantage card number.

2. Gather 5 recyclable items

Think baby wipe packs, empty baby shampoo bottles, formula tubs, etc.

Tip: Formula tubs often count as THREE separate items!

3. Upload photos

Snap a picture of each item, select the product type in the app and await approval (usually within 24 hours or less).

4. Drop them off in-store

Once you’ve uploaded 5 approved items, visit a participating Boots and use their special recycling point.

5. Spend £10 and claim your voucher

Activate your voucher through the app and you’ll get £5 worth of Advantage Points added to your account — within 24 hours!

Top Tips!

  • You can recycle up to 8 times per month (that’s £40 worth of points!)
  • Only spend if you were planning to — otherwise it’s not really saving!
  • Don’t forget to check the full list of eligible items on the app

We love this because it rewards what most parents are already doing… buying essentials! And it gives us a little bonus to put towards baby bits, treats, or potentially to save up towards Christmas gifts! It’s quick, easy and feels like a win-win for parents and the planet!

Let me know if you’ve tried this or if you want to see a list of what we recycle each month to keep those points rolling in!
